AGGIE SWIM CLUB COACHES

 The coaches' job is to supervise the competitive swim program.  The Aggie Swim Club coaching staff is dedicated to providing a program for youngsters that will enable them to learn the value of striving to improve oneself - "to be the best you can be".

Henry Clark - Senior Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Henry has been involved in competitive swimming since the age of 5.  He is an All-American, Senior National and Olympic Trial qualifier, specializing in butterfly and distance freestyle.  As a masters swimmer, Henry won the men's 40-44 100 meter butterfly in the world record time of 58.20 at the Master's World Championships in 2007.
 
Henry has his PhD in nuclear physics from Ohio University where he swam on full scholarship for four years and was captain of the team for three.  He is originally from Newtown Square, PA where he swam under the tutelage of Dick Schoulberg of Germantown Academy and Foxcatcher, side by side Olympians such as David Wharton, David Berkoff and Trina Radtke.
 
Since beginning to coach the Ags' senior program Henry has helped his swimmers achieve their goals of qualifying for Sectionals, Zones, Jr. Nationals, Sr. Nationals and Olympic Trials.  Many have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.

Travis Kiser - Senior Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Travis grew up in Bryan, Texas and swam competitively for Bryan High School and the Bryan Barracudas.  He had a passion for water polo and played for Texas A&M's varsity team in college.
 
Travis graduated from Texas A&M University with an undergraduate degree in History and a masters degree in education and curriculum and he is currently working on his second masters degree in health education.  His hobbies include reading and scuba diving and he is currently a Dive Master Candidate with the TAMU scuba program.
 
Travis is a former United States Marine Corps Infantryman who deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ben Leach - Senior Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Over the past 15 years Ben has been involved in many different facets of swimming.  He began his swimming career at the age of 6 in summer league and eventually joined Lone Star Aquatic Club (LSAC) and competed for his high school.  Ben attended and competed for Incarnate Word for two years before transferring to the University of Texas to complete his degree.
 
Ben has coached at many levels, including summer league, age group and senior.  Before moving to College Station he was coaching in Austin with Nitro.
 
Ben enjoys running, biking and swimming and all outdoor activities.  He enjoys helping athletes build their character and strengthen their integrity while providing a fun and passionate environment where they can achieve their goals.

Shannon Clark - Junior Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Originally from New Jersey, Shannon began swimming competitively at the age of 4 when her father was her coach.  She has been involved with the sport of swimming for the better part of 20 years.  As an age-group swimmer, Shannon held New Jersey Age Group State Records in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM.  At age 12 she was the youngest swimmer in her team's history to qualify for YMCA Nationals.  In college, Shannon swam for Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and was a team captain for one year.  In college her specialties were the 100 and 200 backstroke.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from OU.
 
Shannon has continued to be involved in swimming through her children, Tyler (26) and Haley (24) who were members of the Aggie Swim Club for over 12 years.  Haley is currently attending graduate school at Ohio State University and Tyler is in the US Navy stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
 
Shannon has been the Club's Administrator for the last 16 years and has coached the Novice, Age Group Development, Age Group and Junior programs with the Club since 2002.  She also coached with the College Station Tsunamis and worked with the Bryan Barracudas.  Shannon has been the Director of the Texas A&M University Swim Camp for the last 14 years.

Stetson Carlile - Junior Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Stetson began his swimming career as a junior in high school swimming for a USA team in Fort Worth.  He qualified for Futures (junior nationals) and continued his swimming at Centenary College of Louisiana before transferring to Texas A&M to study Vizualization.
 
Stetson continued his swimming career in College Station as a swimmer in the senior group and working as the manager for the Texas A&M men's swim team before hanging up his goggles to be a coach with the Aggie Swim Club.
 
Stetson enjoys putting his energy and effort into a sport he loves and being rewarded with success.  This is what he hopes to pass on to his swimmers.

Cody Green - Junior Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Born in Australia, Cody grew up in College Station and competed for both the Aggie Swim Club and Consolidated High School.  He attended and competed for the University of Cincinnati in Ohio for two years before transferring to Texas A&M where he is currently enrolled.
 
Cody enjoys soccer, golf, hunting and fishing and his passion is watching swimmers grow and develop in the sport and carry the discipline and hard work they learn into the real world.

Eliseo Villarreal - Age Group Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Eliseo grew up in Rockwall, Texas where he trained and competed with RACE under Olympian Neil Walker.
 
Eliseo is currently a sophomore at Texas A&M University studying architecture with a dream to own his own architecture firm after graduation.  He enjoys working out and listening and playing to music.  Eliseo loves to experience the joy athletes get when they achieve a certain goal after months of hard work.

Lana Thorman - Age Group Coach - TAMU Rec Center
Lana grew up in Rockwall, Texas and competed through high school with RACE.  She has worked as both an age group coach and a lifeguard.
 
Lana has been taking classes at Eastfield College but has recently transferred to Blinn College in Bryan.  She enjoys swimming, running, eating and school.  Lana enjoys working with kids and getting to know their personalities as well as watching them figure out that hard work in practice pays off as results.

Savannah Maier - Age Group Development Coach - College Station Middle School
Savannah grew up in Missouri City, Texas and competed for Sienna Plantation Aquatics and Houston Swim Club.  After graduating high school, Savannah attended and competed for Lynn University, a Division II school in South Florida, where she was a finalist at her conference meet.
 
Savannah transferred to Texas A&M University to study anthropolgy with a minor in nutrition science.  She hopes to one day advocate for wholistic nutrition for athletes and children.
 
Savannah enjoys surfing, triathlons, nutrition and cooking.  She enjoys challenging swim sets that allow swimmers the opportunity to overcome self doubt in their abilities as well as seeing kids enjoy a fun atmosphere of a team.

Kennedy Ellington - Age Group Development Coach - College Station Middle School
Kennedy began her swimming career at age 6 with her local summer league.  She joined a year round club team at the age of 8 and swam through age 18.
 
Kennedy is currently a junior at Texas A&M University majoring in Sports Management with a minor in business.  She enjoys swimming, running and CrossFit.
 
Kennedy has a passion for seeing swimmers grow over time in the sport and helping them achieve their goals.

Lara Edmondson - Novice Coach - College Station Middle School
Lara grew up in College Station, Texas where she began swimming at the age of 16.
 
Lara is currently finishing her final year of school to complete her Hospitality Management degree.  She enjoys singing, reading and exploring.
 
Lara loves being able to help young swimmers develop and enhance their confidence while improving their technique.

Maeson Rodriguez - Novice Coach - College Station Middle School
Maeson grew up in Jersey Village (Houston area) and started swimming competitively when she was eight.  She was a member of the Jersey Village HS swim and water polo teams where she qualified for State all four years.  She is a Swim America certified coach and taught swim lessons for two years in the Houston area.
 
Maeson is currently attending Blinn College studying Animal Science with a goal to become a large animal vet.
 
Maeson enjoys water polo, fishing and relaxing at the beach.  She loves working with kids and seeing their excitement when they learn something new or succeed with a new skill.

Maddie Marcos - Novice Coach - College Station Middle School
Maddie grew up in Dallas, Texas, where she was a competitive swimmer with Fort Worth Area Swim Team (FAST) and the Dallas Mustangs for 13 years.  At the height of her career Maddie qualified for and placed in Portuguese Nationals where she was a nationally ranked swimmer.
 
Maddie is a current student at Texas A&M University working toward a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sport Management.  She hopes to graduate in May, 2018.
 
Maddie's hobbies include watching the Texas Rangers, Aggie Football and Baseball and helping swimmers reach their goals and watching them succeed.

Kaitlyn Romoser - Site Supervisor - College Station Middle School
Kaitlyn grew up in College Station and competed with both the Aggie Swim Club and Consolidate High School.  She specialized in butterfly and was a team record holder in the 200 butterfly.
 
Kaitlyn is currently attending Texas A&M University where she is a sophomore studying Environmental Geosciences.
 
In addition to coaching Kaitlyn is also on the Rowing Team at Texas A&M.
 
She enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, live music, Netflix and sleeping.  Her passion is seeing the kids understand something new and making improvements that make them happy and confident to swim.
